Cheesy Garlic Bread Pull-Apart Loaf with Mozzarella

A deliciously gooey and flavorful cheesy garlic bread loaf, loaded with melted mozzarella and aromatic garlic butter, perfect for sharing as a snack or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large round loaf of sourdough bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, for a spicy kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Using a serrated knife, cut the bread into a crisscross pattern, slicing about 1 inch apart without cutting all the way through the bottom crust.
  3. In a bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Carefully drizzle the garlic butter mixture evenly into the cracks of the bread.
  5. Stuff shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese generously into the gaps between the slices.
  6. Wrap the loaf tightly in aluminum foil and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Unwrap the top of the foil and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes to crisp the crust.
  9. Remove from oven, sprinkle fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes on top, and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra cheesy experience, add a mix of cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
